Ever Wanted to Try Gillyweed from Harry Potter? Here's the Next Best Thing!

While we've yet to discover a plant that can let you swim underwater for an hour like gillyweed in “Harry Potter,” we found something pretty close.

While we've yet to discover a magical plant that can make you grow gills and be able to swim underwater for an hour like Harry Potter's gillyweed in "Goblet of Fire" (don't worry, we'll keep an eye out!), we found something pretty close. And get this: You don't even have to know how to swim to participate!

Now, you can zip around the depths of the ocean on a motorized underwater scooter, complete with a bubble-head breathing apparatus like a B.O.S.S!

B.O.S.S. is the acronym for Breathing Observation Submersible Scooter.

This exciting phenomenon can be found at Aqua Adventure in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where they've served over 100,000 B.O.S.S. explorers to date, in addition to hosting snorkeling expeditions.

So how does the B.O.S.S. work? "As you descend, a seal is formed, the scuba tank supplies air to the bubble and you breathe normally," Aqua Adventures explains about its custom-made gear that takes passengers to depths of 8 feet or more.

A knowledgeable crew of certified dive masters and dive instructors accompany every group and help adventurers mount their rides from the boat.

Once settled, you can then motor-power your way through the Caribbean Sea on a guided tour while taking in the view, both safely and efficiently.

Better yet, these waters are known for being especially clear, so visibility is between 50 and 100 feet — just don't forget your underwater camera!

Plus, it's an environmentally friendly way to explore the waters! "The unit is propelled by an electric motor attached to a 12-volt sealed battery and switch. Therefore, there are no emissions going into the water at all," the site shares about its untippable gear.

You can book your morning or afternoon B.O.S.S. session before you visit by heading to their website, bossuvi.com, and filling out the online reservation form.
